Who we are

Zeral ("we", "us") is operated by Mangisetti Charan Sai (Visakhapatnam, India). These terms apply to the Zeral mobile app and this website.

What Zeral is

Zeral is a research assistant. It surfaces published research and regulatory guidance about ingredients you photograph. It is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not a substitute for talking to a qualified clinician about your health.

Who can use it

You must be at least 13 to use Zeral, and old enough under your local law to enter into an agreement like this one. If you're under 16 in the EU/UK, you may need a parent or guardian's permission.

Your account

By default, your account is anonymous and tied to the device. If we add email or social sign-in later, attaching one is optional. You're responsible for the device you sign in from.

What you can do

• Use Zeral to scan products and view your verdicts.
• Save scans to your history and share results.
• Adjust your goals, preferences, and notification settings.
• Delete your scans or your account at any time.

What you can't do

• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or harvest the service.
• Submit images you don't have the right to use, or images that contain other people's private information without consent.
• Use Zeral's output to make medical claims, marketing claims, or public statements about a specific brand without independent verification.
• Use the service to harass, deceive, or harm anyone — including using a scan result out of context.
• Build a competing product on top of Zeral's API or scrape its outputs at scale.

The science is the science

Zeral's verdicts are based on the best research we can find at the time of the scan. Science updates. A substance flagged as "moderate" today may be re-classified — up or down — tomorrow. We re-check ingredients on an ongoing basis and your scan history will reflect the verdict at the time it was run.

Photos and content

You retain ownership of the photos you upload. You grant Zeral a limited licence to store and process them so the service can do what it advertises: run a scan and show you your history. We do not use your photos to train models for third parties, and we do not publicly display them.

Notifications and broadcasts

If you opt in, Zeral may send push notifications — daily wellness cards, a weekly digest, and occasional product announcements. You can opt out from your device's notification settings at any time. Critical operator-driven broadcasts about meaningful service changes may be sent regardless of channel preferences.

Early access

Zeral is in early access. The product will change. Features may come and go. Pricing tiers may be introduced. We'll communicate material changes in-app before they take effect.

Referral codes

Some periods of access are unlocked by a short referral code. Codes are intended for personal use and may have an expiry. We may revoke a code if it's being abused.

Service availability

We work to keep the service up, but we don't promise it will be available every minute. Scans require a network round-trip; if you're offline, that scan will need to wait.

Disclaimers

Zeral is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any consequence of any decision you make based on a Zeral verdict — including dietary, cosmetic, or purchasing decisions. Always consult a qualified professional for health concerns.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability to you for anything related to the service is limited to the amount you've paid us in the twelve months before the claim — or, if you haven't paid us anything, ₹1,000.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the effective date above and notify you in-app for material changes. Continued use after the change means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Bengaluru.
